4 More 4 You: A SwanoDown Series [7th Edition]

Hans Luchs- Azizam

Some songs just give me a phenomenal feeling of nostalgia. Growing up, my grandfather was a huge fan of jazz- Dave Brubeck, Miles, Wes Montgomery... As I listen to "Azizam" by Hans Luchs, I am instantly taken back to moments where I was being exposed to high level musicianship. Luchs has a such a grasp on his sound, and I'd love to hear him play live. This is simply great sounding music. Take a listen

Lexie Loo- ANXIETY

This record is progressive in its sound. There's nothing about the instrumentation or vocal approach that feels "typical". Just as the record we reviewed above is highly musical, this is a bit of the opposite. "ANXIETY" is a world or energy, rage, and unhinged emotion. This is more of an experience than something you just put on your radio. Get in your bag, get out your head, and let the sound fill up your bodily waves. Turn it up

Brother Thunder- Work

This feels like new aged Blues! Oh my gracious, you can't help but feel the pain/love/strength in Thunder's voice. This isn't a vocal delivery that would be taught in any conservatories- but you know what? You can't TEACH this kind of sound. It's too raw, it's too authentic, it's too ORGANIC. This is such an insight on that soulful southern/midwest sound that influenced so much of Western music. Check it out

GABRIELLA COLE- over + over

There's a bounce to this record that you would hear on a Carnival Cruise Line club. The feeling of some good House bliss. That is all the way present on Cole's "over + over". This makes you want to dance, but also entices you to be a little intimate Enjoy the party
