I obviously cannot speak for everyone, but I don't think I'm alone when I say I like a little bit of mystery. Some undeniable mystique can go a long way. Upside down, black & white mask around the eyes- there has to be more to discover. And we're in luck, there's plenty more to be found from Alek Virago.
Over the past day, I've had the opportunity to take a bit of a deep dive into Virago's released catalog. Experiencing some of her tracks is a bit of a journey.
You seem to get inside the mental of a dedicated artist. It becomes evidently clear that her voice is advanced and controlled. On every piece, she establishes a tone and timbre that fits the atmosphere. Though, it doesn't stop there. Alek is also a solid songwriter, being vulnerable and not afraid to be transparent. A line from her track "Hostage," is a great example of her cleverness and openness with her audience. "He wanna' take me hostage, wanna' cuff me, don't know what I did to make you love me. Believe me baby this shit can get ugly, I don't even trust me."
We're looking forward to seeing Alek's growth. She has all the tools for continuing to break through.
