B. Miles- Separate Rooms (Track Review)

“I get it now; I didn't get it then. That life is about losing and about doing it as gracefully as possible... and enjoying everything in between.” – Mia Farrow

What are you seeking when you turn on music? For me, I’m looking to feel something. What feeling exactly? Well, that changes from time to time and is often dependent on my mood, but nonetheless, I’m looking to feel something. There are moments of pure ecstasy, and moments of gutwrenching sorrow that some songs can take me right back to- but not every song. Not every record has that long standing impact that can follow you for a lifetime,  but B. Miles' record, ‘Seperate Rooms’ certainly does. Her voice gives off the resemblance of a whisper, but holds an undoubtable control of the listener.

‘Separate Rooms’ exhibits the kind of nostalgic soundscape that Dido’s ‘White Flag’ or even ‘Thank You’ has for many people over the years. The rawness of the engineering also adds to this piece. It can bring you UP, or it can assist you while you’re DOWN. It’ll strike your heart in some manner, it just depends on you.
