David Stone- Evelyn (Track Review)

Written by Imani Wj Wright

This piece gave me chills.

There's no other way to put it... when you listen to Evelyn by David Stone, you're partaking in a beautiful composition. The sheer warmth of David's voice brings a widespread feeling of comfort. What's better than that in this circumstance? These lyrics are written directly to his newborn daughter, and it feels that way.

Just as you tend to your child with tenderness and care, David approaches, Evelyn, with the same attributes. Each line is sung with an ultra-personal affection. "Leaning back in my chair. You on my chest. I keep reliving the moment I finally stopped holding my breath."

The guitar play on this cut cannot be overlooked either. The strings superbly accompany David's voice and over storytelling.

The purest form of love is displayed here.
