Franky Bordito: Frequency Check [Report]

Reported by Grayson Jones

If you can make it out of Baltimore you can make it anywhere. With creative passion, Franky Bordito, an artist known for their abrasive and conscious music, has launched a new shoe line called “Frequency Check
.” Just like their music, Bordito's approach to fashion is about much more than aesthetics—it's about connection, self-expression, and a belief deeply rooted in the very streets that it came from.

Franky is no stranger to the demands of creativity. In their process, whether for music or fashion, they immerse themselves in solitude to reflect. “When I’m writing, I have to separate myself from the world. I’m reopening scars that I thought I healed from and I’m feeling every inch of that pain again.” Their creative rituals are key pieces to the work ethic. Bordito explains that being near water helps balance their emotions, alongside meditation and fasting. "I make sure I drink a lot of tea and water... I meditate, wear lapis lazuli, tiger's eye, and lock in." This level of focus isn't just for music—the  fashion ideas come from similarly spontaneous moments of clarity.

In fact, Bordito revealed that their first shoe design came while eating a Maryland classic: “I was eating a crab cake at Pappas in Glen Burnie when I designed my first shoes." It’s this natural integration of inspiration in everyday life that sets Bordito apart.

The launch of “Frequency Check” isn’t just about fashion either— it’s a visual extension of Franky Bordito’s artistry. Like a true Baltimorean, Franky is not interested in trends or appeasing the masses. “With the context of my music, I can't be considerate. I have to be selfish, or it wouldn't be art. God took His time with me to be unique,". Franky’s desire is to build an audience that resonates with the essence rather than conforming to external expectations: "I rather have a soul tribe than just listeners."

Bordito’s philosophy shines through in both the music and now footwear. Every design is intentional and a manifestation of their  belief that each individual is born with a distinct vision. "God gave you that vision for a reason,”…. "Not every genius used the same formula." These shoes, much like the music, are an invitation to others to connect with their inner selves, to shine (or glow) through their uniqueness, and to reject the noise of a world that often tries to define them.

In a world obsessed with trends and conformity, Franky Bordito's “Frequency Check” is a bold reminder to stay authentic and connected to the vision that only you can bring to life.
