“French Toast” by Yonathan Peled, Dandi, and Tal Madhiach is a warm, fuzzy embraced, jazzy, neo-soul bowl of goodness, with a side of contemporary R&B. It's the perfect track for my weekly music exchange with my best friend, Khaliq. Being two black men from Baltimore we often break all the stereotypical music boxes by sometimes vibing to music in different languages, this is just more weight on the scale! Dandi’s silky vocals glide over smooth jazz instrumentation, perfect for a late-nite date night…t hink I typed that out right.
But seriously, when a song whispers, “Just you and me, French toast and cup of tea,” how can you not smile? This is what love sounds like. Think of the meditation literature from the Jewish and Christian traditions, Song of Songs, that’s what this song (pun intended) sounds like.
