Ida Hansson- Elephant Shows (Track Review)

Written by Miles Monroe II

This is a groovy tune from the pop songstress, Ida Hansson. I can admit that I am a first time listener of Ida, but this is a good first impression from her. Her recent track, Elephant Shows, uses a left field instrumental, which makes the track a standout to me. She doesn’t follow the normal pattern for how a pop song sounds in 2020. The off-kilter beat keeps the listeners on their toes and finds a new rhythm to vibe out to, a plus when breaking out as an artist in the industry. Ida has the voice and potential to be recognized in the music world.

Elephant Shows has the sound of a road trip, stopping various locations and meeting new people. It’s the thrill of feeling free and not adding any pressure to yourself with each encounter. In new places that haven’t been traveled, you don’t have the same pressure as you would when meeting someone in the same city as you. There’s a chance those people in the same city you live in has heard about you in some way, shape, or form.

I do want to highlight her songwriting as immensely vibrant. It surely lightens the mood. You can’t help but to smile and enjoy life, no matter what the circumstances may be.
