"C’est La Vie" in French means “that’s life.” It's nothing that says more than that’s life then an acoustic guitar and drums, with the opening lines “I get so down, on myself, I should just smile like everyone else.” That’s the intimate vulnerability of life for Jacob Songs.
I’m a huge fan of overtly produced music, but this record is special in its simple approach. From a young teen figuring out their life’s purpose, to an elder, C’est La Vie has a special ability to connect with all listeners and shape them on their journey. That must be the meaning of music… right?
