Jesse Emmoth- Amalia (Track Review)

Written by Grayson Jones

Bass, drums, guitar, piano, woodwinds, & brass. The aforementioned make up any solid band, but when Amalia comes into play, you get a bit more flair. For example, you hear brushes, you hear a bass drum with maybe a cover... These all create the relaxed atmosphere Jesse Emmoth creates.. What I love about Amalia is that the accentuation never exceeds an aggressive tone, however, the tempo and rhythmic values make the song feel upbeat, almost "in a hurry."

This would sound nice in the same playlist as a classic such as Miles Davis’ Milestones. Both songs have an urgent approach to their pacing, bringing forth an alluring approach to a traditional time signature. It's worth several listens.
