I've been listening to Matti Charlton for about a year now, and one thing I can always appreciate from them is their fearlessness to approach sound in whichever way they feel fit. From piece to piece, you simply don't know which version of Matti you will be receiving. There's a certain level of excitement that occurs for me when I'm made aware of a new release from Charlton.
At times, Matti can provide their audience with very tranquil and subtle sounds, as other compositions are displayed in a more up-tempo pop space. "Once You Start Running", the avant-garde vocal approach and varying melodies throughout really make for an enjoyable listen.
I'm looking forward to seeing where Charlton decides to go on their next record.
