Let's cut straight to it. Paperboy Casino is one of the most dope artists you haven't heard yet. I don't say that lightly either. Let me throw some numbers at you. On average, i listen to about 350-500 records a week. That's between 18,200-26,000 songs a year. So believe me when i say I know a bubbling artists when I hear one.
After listening to Casino's single, "BANDEMIC', needless to say, I ran it back several times. Actually, I'm listening to it right now as I write this. The production has a grimy almost Detroit-styled aura to it. The bass is clean, but hits with a dark ferociousness. The melody is also subtle, but adds that extra layer needed to balance the track. Casino delivers some clever lyricism that can inject a boost of vicarious confidence in his listeners. His sense of delivery is also impressive. You can tell his he has immense control over his rhythmic direction and boisterous character.
