The music industry loves a viral star— but Stephon Dupree is more interested in timeless talent than temporary fame.
A Lexington, Kentucky native, Dupree is a respected A&R executive, artist manager, and entrepreneur whose instinct for talent has helped shape modern R&B and HipHop.
Born October 25, 1988, Dupree began his journey at the University of Kentucky, promoting campus events and eventually crossing paths with a then unknown Bryson Tiller around 2011. Recognizing Tiller’s raw potential, Dupree managed the artist in his early years, playing a key role in his rise to a major-label deal with RCA Records.
But Tiller was just the beginning. In 2017, Dupree launched Dupree Entertainment, a company dedicated to artist development, music publishing, and management. His eye for talent is sharp and global—he discovered French R&B artist Yo Trane via Twitter, and helped launch the careers of JVKE & ZVC, Punchmade Dev (aka OBN Dev), and Drebo Squeeze.

Dupree prioritizes long-term growth, digital branding, and personal connection over fleeting internet fame. This approach has led to notable industry partnerships, including a 2019 publishing deal for JVKE & ZVC with hit-making producer Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, and working relationships with A&R veteran Ray Daniels.
Today, Dupree operates as CEO of Dupree Entertainment, Dupree Sound Publishing, and Dupree Sound Management. His companies focus on building sustainable careers rather than short-lived hits. Dupree’s leadership reflects a belief that the best music comes from authentic voices and careful development, not algorithms.
