SWANO'S 10 [VOLUME 3] PT.16

Curated by Imani Wj Wright
Here at SwanoDown, we listen to a ton of music on a DAILY basis. And during these days, of course, there are standout tracks. Below you'll find the 10 compositions we feel you should check out tonight, (or soon). We find these artists to be the most cutting-edge. And oh yeah, this is in no particular order... You decide!
Compositionally elevated songs by artists like CRFT, Wabisabi, and Yellow Shoots, are all featured today.

Wabisabi- Hollow

I've listened to this record several times today, and each time I hear that guitar strumming and feel the pulsation of this percussion, I'm put in the middle of a body of water just floating on a small boat. Legs up, shades on, and enjoying the pleasantries of life.

DannyKBeats- Lavish

Hear me out when I say this. The comment I'm about to make isn't something I say lightly. This joint is something I could hear on one of Kendrick's older projects like good kid, m.A.A.d city. Nuff' said.

BK Pepper- Island (From an Empty Castle)

The cinematic soundscape of this composition exudes feelings of nostalgia and somber, ending with a modest resurgence. A piece like this takes the mind and talent of professionals.

PANTōNE VU- Danube Blue

Through the steady bassline of this record, there is still an evident freedom within the subtle keys. The juxtaposition enhances one's listening experience.

CRFT- Before We Begin

Simply put, this is funky! Everything about this sends great vibes in the atmosphere. This piece is as groovy and jazzy as the photo above.

Danny G Felix X Horatio Luna- Viaje Espacial

Be prepared to nod your head and be in the mood to dance, this piece will get you off your feet and moving.

Yellow Shoots- salma (if i loved you)

When I read that "salma (if i loved you)" was an homage to Psychedelia, it all started to make sense. I felt like I wasn't fully connected with my surroundings, and instead was pulled into the realm of the track. However you experience that realm is completely up to you. I advise you take the trip.

Jenji- Beside Me

Depending on your mood, this track can amplify that emotion. This tiptoes the line of the typical happy and sad. Regardless of how you swing it, it's emotive.

Giuseppe Malinconico- Polychrome

This is a composition which can be admired not only for its phrases and sounds, but the seamless transitions and selection of emotions this "Polychrome" cultivates. This is outstanding.

ODDstatus x Yogic Beats- Small Talk

With the cover and silkiness of this track, I can't help but to feel some resemblance to A Tribe Called Quest's album, The Low End Theory. Every guitar lick and drum pocket is executed perfectly on this thing. Definitely one of my favorite tracks.
