SWANO'S 10 [VOLUME 3] PT.26

Curated by Imani Wj Wright
Here at SwanoDown, we listen to a ton of music on a DAILY basis. And during these days, of course, there are standout tracks. Below you'll find the 10 compositions we feel you should check out tonight, (or soon). We find these artists to be the most cutting-edge. And oh yeah, this is in no particular order... You decide!
Compositionally elevated songs by artists like Hanses, sadie white, and Oil Morris, are all featured today.

Lucas Venar–
Eye of the Storm

Wow, I needed this today. There wasn't anything wrong. But, sometimes you come across something that you didn't even know you needed. This is it. Venar created such beautiful tones here, and I could feel them brighten my mood immediately.

Oren Eytan– Falling in Love With You

The bliss feeling of falling in love is one that many of us have and/or will experience. Though, just like waterfalls, the feeling can be ever-flowing and fleeting.

HansesFlowerking

This piece has such a funky and groovy sonic environment. The strings, percussion and soulful bass line make for a fly listening experience.

Oil MorrisFlyer

The significance and power of a beautifully played sax can not be understated. OIl Morris' Flyer, is a pure showcase of professional musicianship. While I was listening, do you know what album I could hear production like this on? Kendrick Lamar's monumental, To Pimp a Butterfly.

Dr Ruposhi- Heart Beat

To say this piece is high-energy would be an understatement. "Heart Beat" feels like action, excitement, cinema.. Imagine a scene where a great triumph or chase is underway, this would be the perfect score to play.

Rosehip- Coco

This piece feels exactly like what the cover above shows. Do you ever have moments alone where you drift off in a trance? You almost don't even feel the world amongst you, it's just your body, and your thoughts. That's what "Coco" creates.

Macabe- The Bust Out

This is the type of piece that you continually play on a warm sunny day, shades on your face, and heading to your favorite place. The grooviness, and melodic refrain almost demand joy.

Ana Done- lovely

I had shed a few tears while listening to Ana play this piece. The gorgeous moments I had with people I'm no longer as connected with raced through my mind. Old friends, an ex-girlfriend... There's was an unexpected nostalgia that came along with listening to lovely, and i appreciated every bit of it.

sadie white x godchild- formaldehyde

The sonic experience of this record is out of this world. I'm not exaggerating when I say a feeling of euphoria shot through my leg as this piece progressed. The unrelenting guitar, sadie's voice, and overarching tranquilness of "formaldehyde" is unreal.

Electric8- One Step Forward

If you ever get a chance to visit Baltimore, one of the coolest and most chill venues is Pier Six Pavillion. I can't help but see this piece being such a good vibe at a spot like that. The keys keep your ears engaged, and the rain in the background keeps you in such an even-keeled mood, along with the quite intentionally reverbed vocals.
