SWANO'S 10 [VOLUME 3] PT.42

Curated by Imani Wj Wright
Here at SwanoDown, we listen to a ton of music on a DAILY basis. And during these days, of course, there are standout tracks. Below you'll find the 10 compositions we feel you should check out tonight, (or soon). We find these artists to be the most cutting-edge. And oh yeah, this is in no particular order... You decide!
Compositionally elevated songs by artists such as Tyufyakin Konstantin, Flowerpetal V, and Chalk Portraits, are all featured today.

Cheyne Christian– Moon Don't Go [2022 Remix]

This is the kind of piece that will lead off this list, start your day, and get you up and moving. Cheyne Christian does not give us any room to settle on "Mind Don't Go".

Tom Mueller- Thank you (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Again)

Tobin Mueller's creates a space so specific to his sound and his talents, you forget you're even listening to a "cover" as you engage further into this cut. This joint is funky, and pinpoints all the emphasis in the right places.

Jarrod Jeremiah- THROWAWAY

This piece has hot-record written all over it. The catchy repetitive production, along with Jeremiah's easy-on-the-ears singing gives the content a space to be heard and internalized for the masses.

Chalk Portraits- Rainfall I

How should this song feel? What emotional direction does this take you in? I think the answer to those questions depend on your time/place in life. I've listened to this over the past week. And in full transparency, there were times the piano gave me great blissful memories, and others where I reminisced on moments I wish my mind could erase.

Massaeli- GOVT

"Time is money, and your shit ain't ticking, my shit is ticking." The absolute steez on this piece is off the charts. You can feel the braggadocios aura of both Massaeli and Kdence on "GOVT". This joint can give you a jolt of confident for the day.

Flowerpetal V- Not All Flowers

Good grief! This record puts you in such an unbelievable vibe! I instantly went over to my Spotify page and added this to several of my playlists. Flowerpetal V puts you in an environment that can get you floating. you can float by yourself or be just as satisfied suspending gravity with your lover.

Tyufyakin Konstantin- Je Peux Entendre Ta Musique a Travers la Porte

This is one hell of a visual above, and Konstantin re-creates pieces of it auditorily here. It's peaceful, but almost shines glimmers of hope and inspiration. The brighter side is near while listening to this.

Theo Tams- Kick Back

Cool RnB vibes are running on this piece. You can kick your feet up, put your head back, and enjoy the breeze on this one.

The Blindfolded SeaMonkeys- Chicka Chicka Chicka!

I was playing this cut this morning- and both my sister and i agreed that the intro reminds us of Mary J Blige's "All Night Long". The steady drum intro, coupled with a resonating bass-line melody makes for a highly engaging track.

Jacob Roved Quintet- Shadow Quintet

I'd love to hear this played on my next Sunday brunch. The overall smoothness and overarching professionalism of this piece is outstanding.
