The Grand Mess- Lie to You (Track Review)

Written by Chris Yangello

After spending a few years working in the music industry, there comes a point where you think that you’ve seen it all. There’s no way any artist can come up with something new and original, especially after the amount of successful “copycats” we’ve seen in recent years. Wrong. Recently I learned about a new artist, named, The Grand Mess.

The Grand Mess is an up and coming musician with a lot to give the music scene. From the first second I saw the gold paint all over his body, I knew that he would be quite the artist to learn about. However, it’s not the paint that makes me want to investigate him deeper as an artist, it’s the music. With a recent drop titled “Lie to You,” I felt that I haven’t heard anything like it before. Or, if I had, it’s been a very long time... long enough for me to forget! His abilities to sing high-pitched notes on command, control the track’s direction, and write an engaging hook are all impressive.

He composes music that sparks a unique flare within the listener, and that’s what is so admirable about him. If you have a desire to find a new artist who you can have confidence in, The Grand Mess is definitely the one. I’ve added him to one (maybe two) of my playlists, and I won’t be slowing down anytime soon. And, by the looks of it, it doesn’t seem like he will be either.
