The Imaginaries- Constant (Track Review)

Americana duo The Imaginaries, husband-and-wife team Maggie McClure and Shane Henry unveil their latest single “Constant”, a heartfelt preview of their forthcoming album Fever, released on Friday, August 22. The release arrives alongside a stirring music video premiered via Magnet Magazine, amplifying the song’s tender message of devotion and reassurance.

Penned by Maggie in a single sitting, “Constant” was born out of an intimate moment of care. After watching Shane endure a difficult day, she wrote the track to remind him that her presence is unwavering. Layered with graceful piano and soaring harmonies, the song offers comfort to anyone navigating uncertainty. “At the time, I was also feeling disheartened,” Maggie reflects. “In comforting him, I truly felt God was speaking to me through these lyrics.” That sense of dual encouragement deepened recently as she supported her father during a hospital stay, giving the track an even greater resonance.

Following their uplifting single “Little By Little”, “Constant” reveals a quieter, more introspective side of Fever. Recorded in Muscle Shoals with members of the legendary Swampers, the album balances Maggie’s piano led songwriting with Shane’s expressive guitar tone, drawing early comparisons to Fleetwood Mac, The Civil Wars, and Bonnie Raitt.

As The Imaginaries prepare to hit the road for their Wheels to the Pavement tour, “Constant” serves as both a personal vow and a universal promise, a reminder of love’s power to remain steady through every storm.
