Yorina’s meaning is less easy to discern than her technique. Her emotions seem universal, but she provides no lyrical Rosetta Stone. 

Coupling meditative chamber pop with haunted hip hop, Ericson and Adamah craft a languid shivery dream from which the sleeper may never awake.

Like an aural alchemist, Aytiwan spins his strands of rhythmic sounds into a Gordian knot of charging percussion, dagger-sharp syncopated beats and Lizwi’s ululating trill. 

It’s clear that “I Don’t Fool with Love” is no pastiche, when the band unleashes its secret weapon, 19-year-old saxophonist Tyler Volucci.
